Review The Latest Draft of ISO 45001

ISO 45001 is the international standard that specifies the requirements for an OH&S management system.  The standard uses risk-based thinking throughout to give users a framework for the management of relevant risks and opportunities to their business.  It is generally accepted that an efficient occupational health and safety (OH&S) management system will promote a safer working environment.

As we know the ISO 45001 standard is being developed to improve the occupational health and safety of people working in organisations throughout the world as well as bring it in line with other ISO standards that have recently undergone revisions, such as ISO 9001 & ISO 14001.

ISO 45001 is suitable for any organisation, regardless of its size, type or its activities that wants to:

  • Establish, implement and maintain an OH&S management system
  • Improve its OH&S performance by eliminating or reducing OH&S risks as well as taking advantage of OH&S opportunities.
